This website will guide you in the process of obtaining the necessary State
Licensure & U.S. Visa, that you will need to fulfil your quest to work, travel and gain new experiences in the land of
opportunity.
The first thing you will need to do is read the information on this website and follow the links provided
to see if you qualify and have the ambition to become a Physical Therapist in the U.S.
The process can take from
6 months to 1 year to complete, depending on the availability of the visa & how quick your education can be credentialed.

APPLICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY POSITIONS NATIONWIDE AT THIS TIME ***

1. WHICH STATE DO YOU WANT TO WORK IN ?
Firstly,identify
which State you would like to work in. The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy
will spell out each State's licensure requirements for Foreign Educated Physical Therapists.

3. FIND AN EMPLOYER
Once you have received
your letter of eligibility to take the NPTE & visa screen certificate, PhysioAmerica will search for a suitable employer to
sponsor you for a visa granted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service. USCIS

5. ARRIVE IN THE U.S.
Once you receive your
visa, you will be able to travel to the U.S. and take the National Physical Therapy Examination ( N.P.T.E.) at one of the
Prometric Test Centers
nationwide.We have education resources that will help you pass the N.P.T.E. the first time!

2. GET YOUR EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REVIEWED
Apply
to get ALL of your post-secondary education qualifications reviewed at the Foreign Credentialing Commission on Physical Therapy
this organization will be able to provide you with a Credentialing Report and Visa Screen Certificate.

4. APPLY FOR THE NATIONAL PHYSICAL THERAPY EXAMINATION
(N.P.T.E)
Once we have found a sponsor for your visa, you would apply to take the N.P.T.E.
here in the U.S. The exam is coordinated by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.

6. ANYTHING ELSE!
Some States do not accept
the FCCPT Credentialing Agency. You will then have to apply for Credentialing at the International Consultants of Delaware
which is a subsidiary of The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (www.cgfns.org)
